One of the two visionaries behind the project that is Gone Fishing Cottages, Upendra, or Uppi as he is lovingly called by close ones, is an agriculturist by profession and passion!
He attended the Doon School, Dehradun where he first fell in love with the mountains. As the years went by, Uppi kept frequenting various parts of the Himalayas before eventually deciding to build his ‘home’ in the Tirthan Valley
His years of travelling experience laid a solid foundation for the creation of the Gone Fishing Cottages. Uppi is largely responsible for handling the logistics of the business and when he catches a rare free moment he is found chatting away with guests whom he inevitably finds common ground (or even connections ) with.
Dimple (Dimpi) is responsible for converting this business into home not just for us, but for all who visit, especially the numerous animals who love the property! Raised as an army brat, Dimple has her own wealth of experience to bring to the table. Having multiple Master’s degrees, Dimple has a plethora of knowledge in wide ranging subjects, especially the English language which she teaches mainly to students aspiring to move overseas.
It is her hospitality and loveable personality, however, that makes her truly special. The bonds she forms with the guests go beyond the length of their stays. In fact, it is our belief that these bonds and connections are what keep bringing our guests back. When you ever meet her, you will know exactly what we mean.
